Not my best scan, but not the best control panel overlay either. This is Dig Dug by Willis. Not much to say about this one other than its vibrant and a little funky, but it has little to no visual reference back to the game. It does have the standard Willis quality, with die cuts, and 8 screen printed colors on 3M materials. The “Willis men” make an appearance next to the P1 and P2 button die cuts. It also has the newer logo, © 1983 by WILLIS™. There is no identifying text or part numbers to be found. Overall pretty bland. I can’t say I have ever seen this on a game before, so if you have one installed, please share some photos.
Nothing posted about the Willis Dig Dug on the original website.
I realize this scan isn’t the best, but I’m struggling to find the best way to present the images. I’m not a pro at stitching, so if the auto stitch fumbles it looks crappy. Photographs are a challenge because of trapezoiding, backgrounds, and curling uncooperative artwork. I tried drum scanning at FedEx, but at approximately $15 a shot it’s a costly endeavor as I have hundreds of overlays to scan. Plus a portion of the scans come out stretched or warped looking. If anyone has any suggestions, I’m open to listening.
