Hey, where is Tarzan? No way, not on this overlay. If Taito conceded and changed Jungle King to Jungle Hunt thanks to litigation from the Tarzan copyright holders, you know Willis wouldn’t touch it. Instead, for the Willis Jungle Hunt replacement control panel overlay we get a beautiful sunrise, with a jungle silhouetted in the background. I can just imagine the sun is coming up on this lovely jungle setting, right before our morning swing through the trees, swim through crocodile infested waters, and mountain climb with serious bouldering. Ahh, jungle life. I did prefer the Tarzan yell in the beginning of Jungle King, it is so classic 80’s arcade, but Jungle Hunt was also fun. While this overlay doesn’t match the color scheme of the green Taito cabinet at all, it is more interesting than the plain overlay that is original to Jungle Hunt and might be worth leaving alone if you found one on a cabinet. There is an appearance by the Willis men at P1 and P2 positions, along with the text logo © 1983 by WILLIS ™. The part number text is in its usual position in the lower right, “PART NO. 2006”. Still a quality overlay with die-cuts for the buttons and hardware, but only 3 or maybe 4 colors this time. Quality backing materials of course.

From the original Tokens Only post…

No post from the past sadly, this is the first time posting about the Jungle Hunt overlay.

If you happen to have this overlay installed on your Jungle Hunt cabinet please share some pictures as I would like to see how it looks.  Always interested in discussing Willis artwork, so drop me a line! Thanks
