The Willis Mr. Do! replacement control panel overlay is a bright mix of colors and shapes that you could vaguely associate with a clown motif, and thus Mr. Do! A stretch I know. It’s missing the Willis men at P1 and P2 and no part number to be found. The original Mr. Do! overlay comes in two parts of reverse printed lexan with bevel cut edges, and adhered to the stainless panel with double sided tape. The original uses 8 colors making it a pretty exceptional piece of screen printing. The Willis Mr. Do! replacement control panel overlay is your basic 5 color screen print, with some graphics and text to deliniate the position of the buttons and joystick. Plus the big white box for the instructions takes up a huge amount of space. Not only does it pale in comparison to the original, but it is designed to cover most of the stainless steel panel. The © 1982 WILLIS ™ text logo can be found in the lower left corner and it is identified as a “WILLIS REPLACEMENT OVERLAY – MR. DO” in the lower right. I suppose if someone had picked at the original plastic overlay and broke some of it off, as an operator you would need to replace it to avoid the sharp edges. Not sure how readily avilable original replacements would be and the Willis piece was probably budget friendly. Not much else to say about this one. Its a low budget or low effort piece of art, but still a part of arcade history.

From the original Tokens Only post…

Nothing to read here, this is my first post about this particular overlay.

You can see how different the original overlay is below with a nice shot of the control panel on my game.  Lots of color and patterns that work well with the rest of the cabinet.  Not sure how the Willis piece would look installed, but if you have one on your game please share some pictures!
